Dear VCARD/FCARD,
It’s become clear these are strange and difficult times and this is our new normal for some time. When news about COVID-19 began intensifying, it seemed appropriate for this organization to take a moment to understand the extent of this pandemic. We put on hold several committee meetings and even rescheduled our golf tournament to November; invoicing stopped though payments to our vendors are still being made. Thank you to the several golf tournament contributors who allowed us to retain payments and apply them to the new date.
Our Executive Director, Kerry Karl, has been checking-in on a host of members to get a sense of the impact to the land development industry. So far, all have expressed they are still progressing with project work, thankfully. Moving forward, our leadership’s focus is going to be on the future of development as economic repercussions of COVID-19 begin to be experienced.
As land development continues, I would ask that our members remain committed to promoting responsible development in Volusia and Flagler counties. If you need a helping hand, please reach out. We don’t have all the answers, but we are happy to help try to find them for you. VCARD has been a family for over 30 years; we will remain one through this.
