TREASURER
Ron Nowviskie has been a member of VCARD since 1994 and its Treasurer since 1996.
Ron grew up in southern West Virginia and graduated from Morris Harvey College in Charleston WV with a B.S. in Accounting in 1967. He worked at Monsanto Company’s Nitro, WV facility, leaving as Manager of Cost and Inventory Accounting and President of the Monsanto (Nitro) Management Club, and moved to Ormond Beach in 1970 to work for the Root Organization.
He retired in 2011 after 42 years working for the Root Organization – first as an Accounting Manager for Associated Coca-Cola Bottling Company, then twenty-one years at the original Daytona Beach Hilton in Daytona Beach Shores (the last six as General Manager) and lastly as Vice President and Senior Property Manager for Root Real Estate and Broker/President of Tri-Square Realty.
In addition to serving on VCARD’s Executive Council, Ron also serves on the boards of Boy & Girls Clubs Volusia-Flagler Counties, Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, ArtHaus Foundation, and is a non-board member on the United Way Finance Committee. He was Chairman of the Volusia-Flagler United Way Board of Directors in 2008-09 and was a longtime board member of Catholic Charities of Central Florida. He is a very active member of the Knights of Columbus at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and has co-chaired the annual Octoberfest parish festival for many years.
He and his wife, Betty, live in Ormond Beach and have four children, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
