Keynote Speaker: Mr. Larry Bartlett, Volusia County Property Appraiser
On June 1, Florida Property Appraisers are required to release their estimates of January 2017 property values to local taxing authorities. Volusia County’s newly elected Property Appraiser Larry Bartlett will discuss his department’s determination of current real estate values across all market segments, both commercial and residential, and geographical areas – the year-over-year changes and trends, and their implications for property owners, government officials, real estate professionals, developers and the business community.
Larry has lived in the Ormond Beach area since 1970, and obtained his Bachelor’s and Law Degrees from the University of Florida. He has practiced real estate law in Volusia County for 33 years, and for eight years prior to his election, Larry served as the attorney for Volusia County’s Value Adjustment Board. In this position, he personally reviewed over 13,000 proceedings where taxpayers contested their property valuations.
A Closer Look at Industrial/Warehouse & Distribution with Mr. David Murphy, Sr. Vice President, CBRE
David J. Murphy, MAI, SIOR, CCIM is a Senior Vice President at CBRE, Inc., a NYSE listed (CBG) global leader in real estate services, with offices in 42 states and 68 countries. He has an extensive commercial real estate valuation background and is a Florida Certified General Appraiser, in addition to being a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI).
David has completed over $1 billion in industrial and office/flex real estate transactions and specializes in handling the entire lifecycle of an industrial real estate asset from acquisition and assisting with financing to leasing and ultimately selling the property. While he focuses on Central Florida, he also represents industrial investors throughout the state and represents several large industrial tenants with their multi-state and multi-market requirements.
Located in CBRE’s Orlando office, David has been NAIOP of Central Florida’s Industrial Broker of the Year for fourteen years, most recently in 2015. He has been named Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtor’s® both Top Overall Producer and Top Industrial Broker. David earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate from Penn State University.
